All You Need to Know about Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) Early Access

Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) early access to game developers and artists is available https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/unreal-engine-5 for testing new features and prototyping their game projects. Nanite and Lumen introduced in UE5 will offer high visual fidelity, scalability, and freedom in next-gen games creations for developers. Unreal Engine 5.0 (UE5) is anticipated to release in early 2022 with add-on features and other enhancements to bring an immersive and realistic gaming experience to creators and players.

Early access to explore UE5 features is possible with the download of Epic’s new sample project ‘Valley of the Ancient’ where users can use, test, modify and make changes to the project that is owned using Unreal Engine.

Early Access to UE5 Features include:

  1. Nanite: This newly developed Nanite virtualized micropolygon system enables users to develop games withthe colossal and extraordinary pick to in-depth geometric details. Cinematic source assets can be imported with millions of polygons that can be overlayed million times in a real-time frame rate without losing the visual fidelity. Nanite streams and processes for detail to notice, mostly ridding off the poly count to illustrate call constraints, removing baking details to normal maps, and allowing manually to transcribe LODs for creators to focus on their project’s ingenuity.
  2. Lumen: Lumen allows users to craft dynamic and realistic scenes. It is a dynamic global illumination solution in which indirect lighting adjusts to the direct lighting or geometry like day-night transition, flashlight effect, or lighting reaction to the opening of the external door. Users need not have to work on lighting conditions including lightmap UVs, baked lightings, or reflection captures. Using an Unreal Editor user can create, edit lights and perceive the final lighting of the game or project run on the console.
  3. Open Worlds: The Open Worlds Partition system using Unreal Engine 5 makes the process quicker, seamless, and concerted for all size teams to accomplish what is managed and streamed, the auto dissection of the world into the grid and streaming the essential cells. The new One File Per Actor system enables team members to work concurrently in the same area of the same world uninterruptedly.   4. This fetches instant access to properties in the Details panel with the supporting system, and the newly created button on the toolbar allows the placing of actors in your project world.
  7. MetaHumans: MetaHuman creator enables users to import MetaHumans or download 50 premade digital humans from Quixel Bridge archives. MetaHumans well matches the environment for both UE4 and UE5 creations.

Launch of Pixel Streaming plugin UE 4.27

Unreal Engine requires highly powerful and large volume storage space for massive file downloads. So, to get instant access to UE applications from any device user needs the Pixel Streaming plugin. The Pixel Streaming plugin from Eagle 3D Streaming is a problem solvent that enables UE apps to run on cloud VM based on GPUs to offer an interactive user experience for low-latency video streaming on a normal browser. For instance, UE applications in real-time are the use case as a car configurator and tools in the automotive industry and another use case is in the application of architectural visualization.

Preview of Unreal Engine 4.27 from Epic Games launcher is available and source code through GitHub is accessible for users. Developers can migrate copies of their projects to only test on the 4.27 upcoming preview releases but, cannot be used for active development of their project(s) until the final release of Unreal Engine 4.27. How technology is changing lives in this pandemic

At the start of the year 2020, there was a no clue of this ‘Happy New Year’ will turn all the tables around the globe & surprisingly attack human lives with an unprecedented Pandemic i.e. COVID-19 Virus or Novel Corona Virus without any warning bells to all of us. People with different aims, ambitions, goals, resolutions, passion, creativity & skills were confined to the indoor limits rather going out to work, interact with different people like colleagues, relatives, friends etc. Big break to life was needed if artificial technology around us did our tasks of daily work go easier. Since March we have been in enforced lockdown & slowly & gradually certain things have started taking on the course of resuming once again with a series of step by step unlocks in a country all over.  From March to September or the span of 6months & still continues have changed our lives in such a way that technology played a very significant role in our daily lives. The overwhelming experience to some for spending their time outdoor was only limited to uncrossed-boundaries of their homes. While other Frontliners or Covid-19 warriors like doctors, health & sanitation workers, banking and ATM cash delivery staff, Security personnel, essential commodities & goods suppliers were made available to the benefit of people. 

What made our lives easier with the segments of technology during Pandemic is this:

1) Remotely working: Technology along with internet facility made it possible that wherever you are in the world you can sit at the best place i.e. home & do serve the purpose of work.

2) Virtual Meets: Connecting people across borders, towns & home countries through the live virtual video conferencing whether it may be from skype, zoom, Google Duos, Whatsapp& many more. This set out a chord of communication between Teacher & students in education, Work From Home (WFH) virtual live business meeting chats with subordinates & employees, meeting loved ones & close relatives & friends virtually asking how about their health & conditions etc.

3) OTT platforms: OTT means ‘Over the top’ platform for delivering content of TV and Film via the internet service bypassing cables, broadcast, satellite TV platforms like (DD) etc. Top OTT platforms viz; Amazon Video, Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, Voot, Zee5, Sony Liv, MX Player, Eros Now etc. made big-time magic with spending leisure time watching cinemas, web series, sports, serials etc. streaming live on apps.

4) Creativity Live: Live Events of the creative artists for example dancers, musicians, singers, artist shows were hosted online for the amusement & entertainment of people. 

 5) Game space: To eliminate the boredom, playing online games resulted in increased use of online gaming market viz; Games2Win, WinZO Games, Gamerji, Rummy, Ludo, Carrometc trending on mobile apps.

6) Online buying & selling of grocery: Due to fear of the spread of highly infectious Covid-19 virus, there was a massive growth in the online grocery store for most essential commodity & goods in demand among the consumers. Mobile Application or online stores solved this worry for individuals mainly families with infants & elder people.  

In short, technology & internet can connect your wants & needs in a rapid speed even if we are at distant locations & solve the hitch of our lives. Technology is just here to save our time & realize its worth in a real sense.
